MARS Foundation, an Educational Trust founded by Mr. P.
Manohar, a NRI, based in Singapore aims at catering to the
educational needs of the meritorious underprivileged children.
As the main activity of the Foundation, 507 meritorious
students (240 boys and 267 girls) from a very poor financial
background were identified from the peripheral areas of
Madurai, Tuticorin, Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, and Tirupur. The
schools in the places like Othakkadai, Therkutheru,
Alanganallur, Karungalakudi in Madurai and Pannavillai and
Sayarpuram near Tuticorin, Veerapandi, Karamadai, Thekkampatti
in Coimbatore, Anuparpalayam, in Tirupur and Seeliyur in
Mettupalayam are worth mentioning.
Of the 507 students, 86 students are part time workers, 20
students are single parented - mostly living with mother, 3
students are physically handicapped and one student is an
orphan.
Sponsorship averaging Rs.1500/- per student towards the school
fees, books, note books and uniforms were distributed in the
beginning of the academic year in person at their respective
school premises in front of all the students in the school
assembly by the Managing Trustee Mr. KL. Raja Ponsing
Foundation announces a interest free educational loan for
pursuit of Professional career to Vijaymanikandan this year
and continue to give the remaining students four students
